Region Sum Quads / Region Summe Quads

(Published on 19. October 2022, 19:46 by PDN777)

Normal sudoku rules apply. The digits along a blue or pink region sum line must have the same sum in each 3x3 box entered by the line. Digits in a quadruple circle must appear in the surrounding cells.  I think this puzzle is 1.5 stars out of 5 for difficulty for many solvers. As always, comments welcome. Thanks!

The rules are attractive. But still if a demonstration about the sum line is given, it would be much easier for players to understand. I started with confusion and have to look at the comments and start playing with my guess. I'm not sure about the actual meaning of the rule until most blanks are filled. Ag thanks for the funny puzzle.

Btw, I would like to give a detail explanation of the rules for successors. There are two types or blue of pink lines (They follow identical rules, except for colors They are all three digits long). The first kind: the second and fourth lines at the bottom. Three digits are the same in the line. The second kind: other lines. They are arrows. (The sum of two digits in the same box is equal to the singleton digit in another box).

Very enjoyable. I repeated the same mistake several times through until I finally saw the error of my ways.

Very nice puzzle. Took me a second try to solve it. I had the same problem like sujoyku and did not see the 1-cell-region-line for some reason;)

** Yeah, the line visual symmetry actually rests in different positions in the boxes. Hence the one cell lines (in 3 boxes) appear in the lower shape; but not the upper shape.

Thank you for this nice puzzle, PDN777! I kept on confusing a few sum lines with summation arrows (maybe my brain can not grasp the concept of a one-cell-long sum line ...) and thereby made it harder for myself.
After correct understanding of the rules, my solve was very smooth.

** Actually a region sum line with only one cell in a box is like an arrow.
