- Every digit from 1 to 9 appears once in every row, column, and region. 9 regions are to be determined. Every region is a set of 9 orthogonally connected cells.
- Every digit 1-3 indicates how many region borders surround its cell (similar to Five Cells rules, and the grid border counts).
- All black shapes are found on region borders, and:
-- Cells across black circles have a ratio of 1:2.
-- Cells across black diamonds have a ratio of 1:3.
- All black shapes are given. (If a shape would not be found on a border, it is not given.)
