The Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- Clues on the outside of the grid (some of which must be deduced) are simultaneously sandwich clues and full rank clues:
- [Sandwich] The sum of the digits between the 1 and the 9 in that row or column
- [Full Rank] Considering all rows and columns as 9-digit numbers read from the direction of the clue and ranked from lowest (1) to highest (36), a clue represents where in the ranking that row/column lies.

Great puzzle! Very hard, you should definitely make some notes of the possible combinations or else you could get lost.

Reply: I cannot think of a simple break-in for this rule set without that 28 clue. It works very nicely with just one given clue.

started easy sandwichy ... but got harder near the middle and end where the ranking constraint became more and more important.
