From Zero to Hero

(Published on 21. April 2022, 15:51 by zeneszerzo)

I wanted to create a 2-room Heyawake, with one room being a 0 clue room. This is the result, I hope you like it!

Normal Heyawake rules apply.

  • Shade some cells, so that the remaining unshaded cells remain orthogonally connected.
  • Shaded cells cannot be orthogonally adjacent to each other.
  • Numbered regions (orthogonally connected cells bordered by the edge of the grid or bold borders) must contain the indicated amount of shaded cells.
  • A line of consecutive unshaded cells may not cross more than one bold border.

Thanks for the puzzle, I found this puzzle quite easy and I felt there is only one trick I have to use hundred times.

Yes, 2-line rule apply to borders, not rooms. Sorry for the confusion.

"A line of consecutive unshaded cells may not cross more than one bold border."

Even without inner walls, the question is should the standard 2-line-rule apply to borders or regions? Take a swiss-cross for example.

I'm really looking forward to solving this one. But it's a matter of one's point of view, if it follows the standard Heyawake rules or not, so it would be better to give the rules or a link to them. I got to know Heyawake with the rules as in our Wiki http://wiki.logic-masters.de/index.php?title=Heyawake/en#Instructions regarding to areas instead of borders. Here the rules must be meant as e.g. in the puzzle 97B (Old Cheateau).
