Sudoku Variants Series (352) - Friendly Parity Sandwich Sudoku

(Published on 22. December 2021, 00:00 by Richard)

For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a different Sudoku variant every week. I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.

Friendly Parity Sandwich Sudoku
Apply classic sudoku rules.
Clues outside the grid indicate all digits in the corresponding row or column that have - on both sides - neighbours of the same parity as the digit itself. Clues are placed in ascending order and not necessarily in the order they appear in the grid.

Solve online in F-Puzzles or in CtC-app (thanks RockyRoer!) or in Penpa+ (thx SudokuExplorer!)

Solution code: Row 1, followed by column 8.

Rule clarifying question: If a number is at the border of a row and only has one neighbour, will it still be noted on the outside of the grid if the neighbour is of the same parity?
---
Digits on the border only have a neighbour on one side and will therefore never be mentioned as clue outside the grid. :-)

Reply: that's nice to read!
Next week is the sequel to this one: Hostile Parity Sandwich...

@Richard: I can probably guess what that means... I look forward to it! :-)
Btw the following parity-themed ruleset by Thorsby might be suitable for your SVS: id=0007KX

@SudokuExplorer: Thx. And yes, I noticed it a while ago. It's on my pile of 'unsolved and need more time to get into it'-puzzles. :-)

@AppleSaws Here is an example: the row of digits 132465798 would have the numbers 4 (even number sandwiched by two even numbers) & 7 (odd number sandwiched by two odd numbers) as outside clues.
