Sudoku or Chess?!

(Published on 19. December 2021, 13:34 by Hecspeed)

I like playing chess but I can't find all the pieces. So, I converted the chess board into a sudoku grid with 2x4 boxes. You may choose any color (white or black) you like. The squares (or cells) of the board have to be filled with the lowest possible positive integers.

Now, it seems like the pieces I have, want some value assigned to their squares. Let us assign those values only to your side of the board as follows:
The king and the queen share the two highest possible values. The rooks want the next two highest values available. The two lowest values are kept aside and not assigned to anyone. Out of the remaining two values, a bishop gets the higher value and a knight gets the lower value.

To fill the grid completely, I have set some simple rules which are as follows:
Normal sudoku rules apply (i.e., each row, column, and 2x4 box contains non-repeated digits). The dark squares are even. Cells which are a chess knight's move apart cannot contain the same digit. Cells which are a chess king's move apart cannot contain the same digit.

Let us now play sudoku... or chess... or maybe both?!
