Median Killer Sudoku
Inspiration for this type comes from one of the most innovative sudoku authors in our portal:RockyRoer.
Solve online in F-Puzzles (thanks Steven R!)
Apply classic sudoku rules.
The small digits in the upper left corner of each cage (dotted outlined region) indicate the median of the digits in that cage. The median is the middle digit in a set of increasing order (i.e. 2 for 1,2,8), or the average of the two middle digits, in case of an even number of digits (i.e. 3 for 1,2,4,9). Within each cage all digits must be different.

Solution code: Row 1, followed by row 9.

Muss dann in ungeraden Gebieten (3 oder 5) die 5 immer im mittleren Feld stehen?

Reply: the position or order of the digits is not relevant. a clue of 5 could be something like:
3,4,5,8,9 but also
5,1,2,6,7

Ist in einem umrandeten Gebiet mit 5 Feldern (links oben und Mitte) der Median der Durchschnitt der mittleren 3 Felder? Eine 5 im mittleren Feld würde da keinen Sinn machen.

Reply: I don't know if I understand your question correct, but if the median is 5 in a cage with 5 digits, the cage contains two digits smaller than 5, 5 itself and two digits larger than 5.
