Yahtzee (Yahtzee + kropki sudoku)

(Published on 14. September 2021, 15:31 by Aspartagcus)

Look at that, you rolled a Large Straight!
Let's see if your luck continues as you try to solve this sudoku.

RULES:
- Standard sudoku rules apply.
- Digits with a black dot between them must have the ratio 1:2, except the for the dot with a 3, where the ratio has to be 1:3.
- Clues outside the grid are NOT normal little killer clues, but Yahtzee little killer clues. The digits in the diagonals indicated by the arrow represent the values of the 5 dice in a Yahtzee roll, and the number outside the grid indicates the points of that roll, pertaining to one of the 13 categories in Yahtzee. As per the rules of Yahtzee, you may only use a category once (if you e.g. sum the 6s in one clue, you may not do that in another clue). Click here for a list of the categories and their scoring.

Enjoy!

Nice and fun idea! I liked how the clues are quite minimal.

Nice concept here.. I grew up on Yahtzee, and the infusion of this concept into a sudoku is very ingenious. There were some tricky parts though, but thoroughly enjoyed the solve, especially how it unwinds after all the clues are resolved. Thanks for this awesome puzzle, and the associated nostalgia it brought.

Glad you liked it! I've also played a lot of Yahtzee growing up. :)
I might try to make another one with only Yahtzee clues (would have to be a 6x6 then).
