Compass Fillomino #5: Large Ring

(Published on 3. September 2021, 10:59 by MagnusJosefsson)

This puzzle series is based on a new variation of Fillomino, inspired by the magnificent Compass Sudoku series by stephane.bura as well as many excellent Fillomino variations by Jesper, spxtr, Mark Sweep and others.

I would recommend solving the easier Introduction to Compass Fillomino to get familiar with the ruleset prior to attempting this puzzle.
You may also wish to try #4, #2, or #3 (hardest).

Rules

Standard Fillomino rules apply: Divide the grid into regions and enter into each cell the size of its region. No two regions of the same size may share an edge.

Compass rules apply: If there is an arrow in a cell, the digit in that cell equals the total number of cells belonging to the region the arrow comes from that are in the direction of the arrow.
Not all arrows are given.

Example:

The arrow in the cell with the digit 4 indicates that the green region must have a total of exactly 4 cells to the right of the red line.

One ring to rule them all...

I had saved this one on my to-do list for when I would have the time to do it in one sit, because I was afraid I'd loose my trail of thoughts if I had to stop in the middle. Well, this was worth the wait ! The variety of logic with tiny little steps to get going, up to the giant steps that concluded the solve, it had enough to keep me busy for a little more than 2 hours, which is less than I had expected at first.

A huge thank you for this beautiful puzzle. I shall move on to the next compass puzzle, which explores a cave apparently...

Thank you for this series, I enjoyed all of the puzzles a lot. They all felt very different to one another. Similar to Niverio I would also solve another 10 of these :)

Awesome finale to an awesome series! Very well deserved rating, and I would definitely solve 10 more of these if provided. Absolutely gorgeous.

The realization that you're going to have to take a fillomino for a long walk is so bittersweet. This series has been so much fun, now time to see if I can crack the 3rd puzzle with a bit more practice!

Fantastic! When I saw the title of the previous puzzle, I knew that a large ring would surely follow. This ruleset has really grown on me. :)

Thank you PixelPlucker! Glad you enjoy the ruleset, it is still my favourite puzzle type to set as well :).

Got stuck for a while in the tricky upper left corner. thanks for the very nice puzzle.
-----
Thank you! Yeah, that is definitely the trickiest section in this puzzle. Even took me a bit of time to work out during a few of my test solves. :) /Magnus

Great puzzle! I didn't find it too hard, as I never got stuck. It just takes some time to solve it because of its size. The solve was very smooth and felt quite linear, so nicely constructed.

Thank you Mark! Nice to hear, that was what I was aiming for :). /Magnus
