Compass Fillomino #2

(Published on 8. April 2021, 18:35 by MagnusJosefsson)

This puzzle series is based on a new variation of Fillomino, inspired by the magnificent Compass Sudoku series by stephane.bura as well as many excellent Fillomino variations by Jesper, spxtr, Mark Sweep and others.

I would highly recommend solving the much easier Introduction to Compass Fillomino to get familiar with the ruleset prior to attempting this puzzle.

Rules

Standard Fillomino rules apply: Divide the grid into regions and enter into each cell the size of its region. No two regions of the same size may share an edge.

Compass rules apply: If there is an arrow in a cell, the digit in that cell equals the total number of cells belonging to the region the arrow comes from that are in the direction of the arrow.
Not all arrows are given.

Example:

The arrow in the cell with the digit 4 indicates that the green region must have a total of exactly 4 cells to the right of the red line.

Penpa link doesn't work for me. Here's a CTC link https://tinyurl.com/mtxudtty obviously without answer checking.

Masterclass! And the good news for me is that there's several more of these :-)

Juggling with large numbers and their relationship to the grid is really not a logic I'm familiar with, so it was quite a challenge to get through the second part of the puzzle. The size of the regions was not too hard to find, but the precise shape required a bit of guessing on my part. You did an impressive work putting that together !

Great puzzle :) I found the second half pretty difficult but got there in the end. Wish me luck for the third!

Absolutely astonishing construction! Onto number 3 I go! I hope I don't perish along the way, since I heard insane things about 3 :)

Nice Puzzle Combination.
I actually found this one to be easier than the introduction (which I really struggled with).

This ended up feeling a bit like an advanced Numberlink puzzle, which was unexpected.

Thanks Eggr! I haven't tried Numberlink puzzles, maybe I should check them out. /Magnus

This is an incredible puzzle! The logical path is filled with challenging, terrifyingly implausible deductions. Proving it logically, and watching it miraculously come together, was a thrill ride. Thanks :)
