Here's another puzzle in my collection of Sandwich puzzles without givens. If you're interested in others:

The Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply. Fill each row, column, and box with the numbers from 1 to 9.
- Numbers in the circled cells represent sandwich clues. A horizontal capsule will be read left to right and tells the sum of the numbers between the 1 and 9 in that row. A vertical capsule is read top to bottom and indicates the sum of the cells between the 1 and 9 in that column. A single cell will be a sandwich clue in either its row or column - you must determine which.

- Where does the 1 go in box 5? Still can't find it? How many cells are required to have a sandwich sum of 24, if it must contain a 2 and 4?
- Now, where does the 9 go in box 5?
- Where is the 1 in column 6?
Solution code: The 2nd row from left to right, and the 3rd column from top to bottom

My experience was much like msj's: After a couple of bifurcations at the start I realized how to get the same result without them. After that it was smooth sailing. Thanks!

very enjoyable, as always with a RockyRoer puzzle an uncommon rule set which makes you think to find the break-in. Nice logic interaction continues with a nice balance of Sudoku giving digits as well which contribute to the logic nicely.
In relation to comments ref bifurcation - my first solve felt that way, but I went back to the start - with hindsight of the logic that the rules drive - and found a much more logical break-in to box 5.
