"And if you're lucky, you can sometimes see the celestial path glowing in the night sky above Earth." With these words Santa clapped the book of fairy tales shut and gazed out at his listeners with satisfaction. "Do you happen to have a sketch of the path?" asked one of the gnome children. "Because then we could reconstruct it over Christmas so we have something to play with." Santa gave the child a skeptical look, but then dug out a sheet of paper and a pen. He drew a grid with some clues. "So, this is the construction plan of the celestial path. The path consists of the usual forms (corners, branches, straight lines, and intersections). The stars illuminate the path, so they can't be crossed by it. Each arrow points toward exactly one star, and stars may not touch one another — not even diagonally. When considering the edge clues, please be aware that they could also denote the number of stars. And as I'm talking I noticed that the edge clues haven't been sorted, and I forgot to provide one clue column and one clue row. Still, it should be solvable.. and before you ask: the path does not cross the arrow cells, and not all cells need to be occupied."
Solution code: Rows 4 and 8, without the outer clues, for a total of 18 symbols (E for corner, V for branch, G for straight line, K for crossing, S for star, X for empty field)

@Mody: Nein. Das soll im letzten Satz ausgedrückt sein. Ich nehm mal das Komma zwischen "weitere" und "ungenutzte" weg, dann wird das klarer.

Ich bin immer wieder baff, wie jemand so eine geniale Konstruktion hinbekommt. Danke für die Antwort. Seltsam, auch diese Kombination hatte ich am Anfang berücksichtigt, aber es dreimal geschafft, sie in den Widerspruch zu führen. Jetzt habe ich nochmal komplett neu angefangen. Wahrscheinlich hatte ich schon im Zwischenstand (bei dem ich mir 100 %ig sicher war, dass er richtig war) einen Fehler drin. Leider nicht aufgehoben. Aber egal. Ich finde es total befriedigend, wenn man so ein Rätsel dann doch noch knackt.

@ildiko: Neben den Gleisarten der U-Bahn können auch die Anzahl der Sterne als Hinweise gegeben sein.
Das Hinweisfeld oberhalb der 4_33 ist gleichzeitig auch das Hinweisfeld für die Zeile mit den Ziffern 3_0_3.
