Hurray for René

(Published on 9. January 2021, 00:00 by Richard)

Hurray for René!

Today my puzzle friend René Gilhuijs (rcg) is celebrating his 60th birthday.

This is my present for him.

Congratulations!

Today is the birthday of my good friend, fellow board member of WCPN and SVS test solver René Gilhuijs (rcg).
Congratulations on turning 60! This puzzle is my present for you and I hope others will enjoy it as well.

At the same time this is my way to say THANK YOU for all your SVS testwork. And I want to apologize for the times I have send you a puzzle with a typo or missing symbol or anything else that caused you having wasted your precious time on an imperfect puzzle. On the other hand: that’s why puzzles need to be tested. I hope this one makes it up a little bit.

Your feedback on the previous Delimited Kropki was that the opening was hard to spot and after that it went pretty fluent. In this case it’s the other way around. The opening is almost a give-away and after that it gradually becomes harder.

Enjoy!

Delimited Kropki
Apply classic sudoku rules.
Only for two cells connected by a grey line, kropki rules apply:
A white circle between two cells indicates that the neighbouring digits are consecutive.
A black circle between two cells indicates that one of the digits is twice as big as the other digit.
The absence of a circle indicates that there is no neighbouring digit that is either consecutive or double.
Be aware that between digits 1 and 2 the circle can be either white or black.

Solution code: Row 8, followed by column 9.
