Hourglass!!

(Published on 2. January 2021, 02:41 by abed hawila)

Rules:

Classic: Normal Sudoku rules apply

Arrow: There are some arrows shown in the grid. The digits on the arrow path add to the digit in the circled cell. Digits can repeat on the arrow if allowed by the other rules.

Anti-knight: Digits may not appear within a chess knight’s move of each other.

Nonconsecutive Thermos: Digit must increase along the Thermo starting from the bulb, and no consecutive digits appear along Thermo. For example, 1-2-6-7-8-9 is not a valid thermo, while 1-3-5-7-9 is valid.

Little killer: Marked diagonals sum to the given number, digits can repeat on the diagonals.

Note: The yellow shading is only cosmetic and has no relevance to the puzzle.

There are actually 4 Thermometers and the cells in rows 4 and 7 each belong to two distinct thermos simultaneously. The endpoint of the first pair is on R4C4 and the endpoint of the second pair on R7C7 Similarly that R4C4 is actually part of two arrows simultaneously and similarly for R6C6.

For the German version you could call it Sanduhr.

It might also be good to explain that the yellow shading is only cosmetic and has no relevance to the puzzle.

Furthermore clarify that there are actually 4 Thermometers and the cells in rows 4 and 7 each belong two distinct thermos simultaneously. The endpoint of the first pair is on R4C4 and the endpoint of the second pair on R7C7 Similarly that R4C4 is actually part of two arrows simultaneously and similarly for R6C6. All of this will be obvious for people who do a lot of thermo and/or arrow puzzles but it is not immediately clear from the graphics.

** Thank you Narayana for your feedback, I added some notes to the description.

Very Nice!

I believe you meant to name this
"Hourglass"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hourglass

In other languages, like for example Spanish, it is called Reloj de Arena whose literal translation gives "Watch of Sand" or "Clock of Sand" but English is weird...

Very nice!

I made a little mistake, but maybe the 4-star difficulty is overestimated.

** Thank you cdwg2000 for your feedback I updated the difficulty.

This was fun! I ended up having to use coloring to get through it, but I really enjoyed it :)
