Sum Compass Sudoku

(Published on 31. December 2020, 20:00 by stephane.bura)

Every row, column and compass region must contain the digits from 1 to 9.
You must draw the nine contiguous compass regions. Each region contains one compass, a cell with a frame.

If there is one or two arrows pointing to a cell, that cell contains the sum of the numbers of cells belonging to the regions where the arrows come from, in the respective directions of the arrows.

For instance, r3c6 is 9 and has two arrows pointing to it. This means that if you add the number of cells from the region containing r3c7 to its left to the number of cells from the region containing r4c6 above it, you get 9.

Enjoy!

I now really want to see the excitable Simon take on this one on the CTC and shower it with superlatives that this puzzle absolutely deserves. ;)

My god, this one is mindbogglingly clever - making me gasp several times, which no other puzzle has ever done.

I was reminded of Richard's praise of Stephane as the most creative author on this site - this puzzle surely demonstrates that in spades.

If ever someone should be held responsible for eventual braindamage ... it is you, Stephane Bura. :-)
It was a wonderful journey along the solution path. Thanks

Ha! If that happens, I hope it'd still be enjoyable :)
Thanks!
