XV Sandwiches

I always hated seeing a good sandwich puzzle that needed a given digit or two to disambiguate the 1's and 9's, so I've been trying lots of different variations to eliminate the need. Stumbled upon this and liked the different logic that developed in it. Hope it's not too eXtraVagant. Have fun!
Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply.
- Given clues outside the grid indicate that there is *exactly* 1 X and one 1 V that must be placed between cells somewhere in that row and column. The number is the sum of the cells sandwiched between them.
- Ex: a 12 outside a row might be satisfied with 2V354X61798
- Ex: these would not work
- 2V354X61978 (would contain two x's because 19.)
- 7X354X61298 (no V)
- Rows and columns without markings may or may not contain X's or V's - no information is given/implied about them.

Extrem cooles Rätsel. Ich brauchte zwar Stift und Papier, um einige Möglichkeiten durchzuexerzieren, aber das war es wert.

Smooth sailing, only 3 stars difficulty for me (approx. same solving time as for Friendly Sandwiches).

Thanks for a good puzzle, RockyRoer. It was rather VeXing at a few places, esp the ODD clue in row 5, but very nice on the whole. Fine construction. Kudos !

I fully agree on Sandwiches with given digits! Every single one I've made doesn't contain any, or no clues on the side. I'll start this as soon as my coffee is ready.
