Knightsrun Sudoku

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

In the finished solution, the numbers in the dashed killer cages must "connect" to cells of the same color (so cell R1C1 makes 3 connections to the other 3 red cells, cell R8C8 makes 2 connections to the other 2 blue cells, and cell R8C1 makes 3 connections to the other 3 green cells).

A connection is defined as a series of consecutive digits separated by a knight's move (in chess). Connections are allowed to overlap.

Within each connection, the consecutive digits either increase or decrease, not both.

To illustrate the ruleset, here is a 6x6 example:

The solution to this example is shown below. As can be seen, the 1 in the red killer cage makes knight's moves with increasing consecutive digits to reach the 6 in the red cell. The same is true for the 5 in the green killer cage cell, connecting to the 2 in the other green cell.

I can scarcely believe it, I have finally figured the whole thing out. I had tried it way back when you first recommended it to me, couldn't figure it out, and then, over the months, I must have tried 3 or 4 times and just couldn't figure it out, but after being stumped by other puzzles where I was just trying to go after my own flawed interpretations of the rule, FINALLY it clicked hehe. Oh man I'm so happy to cross this one off my backlog, and congrats on creating that headscratcher :D

Really neat although not too hard to spot break-in, and the rest is really well constructed too. The only thing that confuses me is that I did spend certainly more than twice as much time on your knightsjump puzzle with no progress at all, this really makes me wonder. Anyway, thanks for this amaznig puzzle.

Spectacular construction. Looks crazy hard at first, but once you understand the rules (took me a while...) the break-in is very clever but attainable. I had to be careful not to unconsciously apply the anti-knight rule - broke the puzzle three times... Very enjoyable. Thanks
