Sudoku Variants Series (282) - Delimited Kropki Sudoku

(Published on 19. August 2020, 00:00 by Richard)

For this Sudoku Variants ProjectI have planned to publish a different Sudoku variant every week. I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.

Delimited Kropki
Apply classic sudoku rules.
Only for two cells connected by a grey line, kropki rules apply:
A white circle between two cells indicates that the neighbouring digits are consecutive.
A black circle between two cells indicates that one of the digits is twice as big as the other digit.
The absence of a circle indicates that there is no neighbouring digit that is either consecutive or double.
Be aware that between digits 1 and 2 the circle can be either white or black.

Solve online in Penpa+ (Thanks Nick Smirnov).

Inspiration for this type comes from Sudoku GP 2020 Czech Republic round.

Solution code: Row 5, followed by column 7.

Ich hab ein bißchen gebraucht, bis ich den Einstieg gefunden habe, aber dann ging es (wie immer bei Richards Rätseln) logisch durch

Thanks for the hint - it was very helpful, and, just as I suspected, a piece of basic Kropki logic that I failed to discover. Had I known this logic a priori, I would've agreed with the 3-star difficulty.

I received some feed back about the difficulty level of this one. There is a not-so-hard-to-spot logical opening in this puzzle. It may be not in the most trivial place though.
Understanding how kropki dots work may help. Especially if you are new to it.
