Bishops and Knights and Rooks and Kings, Oh My!

(Published on 26. July 2020, 16:09 by HalfBakedLunatic)

This is a follow up to my "Stalemate/Checkmate" pair of puzzles, expanding on the use of chess pieces - now including the Rook!

* Normal Sudoku rules apply
* Kings are 1, Rooks are 2, Bishops are 3, Knights are 4
* No two Kings can be a “Kings Move” apart
* No King can be a “Knight’s Move” from any Knight
* No King can be on the same diagonal as a Bishop, unless a Knight or a Rook is blocking the path
* No King can be in the same row or column as a Rook unless a Knight or a Bishop is blocking the path

Basically, no King can be "in check"

Notes:
The puzzle has nine givens, one of each digit. There are two thermo's and a little killer diagonal to get you started (and yes, there is a Themo INSIDE the little killer diagonal!).

The solution path SHOULD end with two very nice 'impossible situations' that need to be resolved with the chess rules. Enjoy, and please leave a comment to let me know if you liked it!

NOTE: If you use the online tool, turn on the "Panel" and hit the arrow to enter Chess pieces - or just use numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4.
