Sudoku Variants Series (274) - Mystery Sandwich Sudoku

(Published on 24. June 2020, 00:00 by Richard)

For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a different Sudoku variant every week. I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.

Mystery Sandwich Sudoku
Apply classic sudoku rules.
Clues outside the grid indicate the sum of the digit(s) that have to be placed between the digits X and Y in the respective row or column. The values of X and Y have to be determined by you, but they are the same throughout the entire puzzle.

Inspiration for this type comes from MartinR.

Solve online in F-Puzzles (thanks Krokant!)

Solution code: Row 2, followed by column 3.

This was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed this tasty sandwich.

@rcg: thanks!
(As you know,) my list with possible variants is pretty long at the moment. Much longer than a few months ago!

This is my 1000th solved puzzle on this site. I thought its only fitting that it is a SVS puzzle from my good friend Richard, because the whole series also began with a SVS puzzle. I hope his great series continues much longer.
