Hidden Thermos Sudoku
(Published on 3. June 2020, 19:00 by stephane.bura)
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Digits along a thermometer must increase starting from its bulb.
However, you must draw the thermometers yourself!
A circled digit gives the length of the thermometer it belongs to.
The only allowed diagonal parts of thermometers are shown. All the other parts are horizontal or vertical.
The grey cells are the only ones that are not part of a thermometer.
Solution code: Column 1, column 2

This one took me a long time! It wasn't clear to me from the outset that the digits were necessarily given digits (rather than just thermo lengths). It also took a long time for me to think to look at the thing that removes the majority of the ambiguity in the puzzle, so I spent a couple hours feeling like I was completely in the dark!

There was a typo in the solution code that I managed to test twice! Sorry.
Thanks marcmees for telling me.
