Palindromic Snake

(Published on 18. March 2020, 00:38 by Phistomefel)

This puzzle is a sudoku, in which the two gray marked fields represent the ends of a snake, on which the numbers form a palindrome.

The usual Sudoku rules apply. The two gray fields represent the two ends of a snake, i.e. a path that is one cell wide and does not touch itself orthogonally or diagonally. The sudoku grid without the cells of the snake must be a single connected area.

The clues at the edge indicate how many 90 degree bends the snake has in the corresponding row or column. Here "0" means that the snake in the respective row or column contains no 90 degree bend, and "+" means that it makes at least one 90 degree bend in the row or column.

The numbers on this snake form a palindrome. The comparison symbols between two cells indicate which of the two cells contains the larger digit.

The puzzle is also available online via Penpa Plus. Have fun solving!

Solution code: 4th and 8th row

@Bankey: It must be a single orthogonally connected area i.e. you should be able to connect any two cells in the area by moving only orthogonally.

For the non-snake part, the connection must be only orthogonal, or can also be diagonal ?

@vebby, thanks for your reply. Just saw it. Grateful if someone can post the CtC app for the puzzle as I find that easier to use. Thanks, again.
