Snake Sudoku

(Published on 13. February 2020, 10:08 by Phistomefel)

This puzzle is a new sudoku variant, where you place snakes in the sudoku grid. Along these snakes, the numbers are either in ascending or descending order.

A snake consists of five connected cells that may not branch out or contain a 2x2 subregion. Two snakes may not be orthogonally adjacent, but diagonally. The clues outside the sudoku grid indicate how many cells in the corresponding row or column belong to a snake.

Here you can see an example of a Snake Sudoku on a 6x6 grid:

Here comes the actual puzzle. Have fun solving!

Very nice puzzle. The Penpa-link didn't work for me, so I remade the puzzle: http://tinyurl.com/4xsu2nnk

I had way more trouble with this than I should have. When in doubt, read the rules. When still in doubt, read the rules better...
