Snorkel trip
As a thank-you for last years' work each gnome could make a relaxing trip before the next Christmas stress. One of them chose a snorkel trip and made an interesting discovery - a coral reef with a sea snake. Quickly he took a photo in order to catch that moment.
Zooming the photo at home he noticed, that coral and snake touch each other, even orthogonally. Furthermore on the snake the digits 0-9 are placed. And as he looked even more thoroughly he became aware, that the digits alternately increased and decreased (worm rule).
All at once the idea entered his mind, to derive from this base this year's puzzle. Left and top japanese sums hints are given for the snake. No digit may repeat in a row or column. Beginning and end of it are unknown. Right and bottom you find coral hints, as usual sorted ascending. (Snake cells and empty cells are non-coral cells and have to be connected to the edge of the grid.)
Finally he cryptified all 10 digits with 9 letters and a Christmas tree - same symbols stand for same digits, different symbols stand for different digits. All hints are given, but some are irrelevant and the gnome replaced there each digit by a question mark. No leading zeros occur. A special feature regarding the coral hints: All hints "4" and "5" are given.
Solution code: Row 4 and column 12, K for coral cells and W for white cells

Die Koralle und die Schlange konnte ich schon vor zwei Wochen bestaunen, aber die Zahlen wollten da irgendwie nicht ganz reinpassen, jetzt beim erneuten Durchgehen ging es glatt auf. Großartiges Rätsel!

The number 0 is allowed as sum hint.

Das mit dem Ziffernwiederholen hatte ich mich auch gefragt, dann aber pragmatisch entschieden. Ich finde ja, bei einem Wichtelrätsel mit einer hübschen Geschichte müssen die Regeln nicht völlig "scharf" formuliert sein, da darf man sich ruhig mal was dazudenken.

In der siebten Zeile ist ein Baum gegeben. Ist dieser als einzeln stehende Zahl zu verstehen oder gehört dieser zu dem linken Fragezeichen dazu?
