Höhlen-U-Bahn (Teil 3)

(Published on 18. May 2019, 11:31 by Zzzyxas)

A little trickier than the first two, but not by much. And once again, lots of nice logic and interactions.

Masterpiece! The combination of rules worked perfectly. So many clever moments and a very satisfying flow.

In my experience, the question whether Google Translate is good enough to understand something, can be comfortably answered in the negative. I used Deepl and changed a few bits to come up with the following translation:

Some of the empty cells are to be shaded so that all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected and all shaded cells are orthogonally connected to the border.

The clues inside indicate how many unshaded cells can be seen horizontally and vertically from that cell to the next shaded cell in each case, counting the clue cell itself.

Subsequently, a subway network is to be entered on some of the unshaded cells. The outer hints indicate how often the corresponding line section occurs in the row or column. The subway network may lead through cells with hint numbers.

is the google translation good enough for me to solve this one? unfortunately, i do not speak german

a true masterpiece of a puzzle! thank you so much :)

@gustaphe: The 1's are underground clues. The cave has the size 15x15, the four top rows and the four leftmost columns aren't part of the cave, they contain the underground clues.

Note that this puzzle is part 3 of a series, maybe it would be better to start with the easier ones, puzzle 0002YZ and puzzle 0002Z0.

It might be that I'm translating the rules wrong, but how can there be 1's? Then that field should be the only white field it sees, but then it can't be orthogonally connected to the rest?

@Mody Thanks for the gentle nudge. There is an area that had more restrictions than I thought at first. Once started, this puzzle was by far the best of the three.
