Sudoku Variants Series (233) - TeeTotal Sudoku

(Published on 19. June 2018, 00:00 by Richard)

For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a different Sudoku variant every second Tuesday. I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.

TeeTotal Sudoku
Place the digits from 1 to 8 and a letter T in each row, column and 3×3 box. The letter T can be orientated in any of the 4 horizontal or vertical directions. In addition, the digits in the 3 cells immediately adjacent to the arms of the letter T must add to the same total for each letter T.

Inspiration for this variant comes from Sudoku Surprise Test by David McNeill.

Solve online in Penpa+ (You can draw T's using Line mode and Middle sub. You can switch between Line and Sudoku modes using Tab button; thanks Nick Smirnov!)

Solution code: Row 5, followed by column 5.

Of course... :-))))

@Eisbär: Try T instead of 9.

on 23. July 2018, 12:48 by Rollo

Also: "für jedes T" :-)

Ziffer = Buchstabe.
