Sudoku Variants Series (205) - Rolling the dice Sudoku

(Published on 31. October 2017, 00:00 by Richard)

For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a different Sudoku variant every Tuesday. I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.

Rolling the dice Sudoku
Place the digits from 1 tot 9 in every row, column and 3x3-block. A dice moves horizontally or vertically over the grey path through the grid by rolling it to the next side every time it moves from cell to cell. In every cell that you pass along the way you have to fill in the digit that is on the top side of the dice at that moment. An image of a folded out dice is given next to the grid. The starting- and ending digit can be any one of 1 to 6.

Inspiration for this variant comes from Nikola Zivanovics test Sudoku Day.

Couldn't find a dice in my house, so I made an improvised one from a cream box. Not sure I would be able to solve the puzzle without it ;D

Erst als ich den Unterschied zwischen meinem Würfel und dem Netz gefunden habe, gab es endlich keinen Widerspruch mehr. Bei meinem Würfel sind tatsächlich 2 und 5 vertauscht.
