To Christmas 2016 some eager puzzlefriends have again arranged a group in which everybody had to make anonymously a puzzle for someone else. These puzzles are now presented one after the other here in the portal.

In the gnome school the task of the day was to create a special christmas present.

Eagerly the gnomes started their work. Wawichtel made a Coral, where the outside hints gave in increasing order the lengths of coral blocks with at least one empty cell between them. (The Coral does not touch itself, there is no 2x2 coral area and all the empty cells are connected to the edge of the diagram.)

Wuwichtel laid a Lits puzzle. But he didn't really know how to start. (Short explanation: All Wuwichtels are first grader. In their second year they become Wowichtels, in the third Wiwichtels and in the forth grade Wewichtels.) So he looked to the experienced Wawichtel (fifth grade) and decided, to lay Wawichtel's coral with his Lits parts (each part occurs seven times). He took care, that no two equal parts (no matter if rotated or mirrored) have common edges. Outside the grid he gave as hints the first occuring part.

After they were finished, they exchanged the puzzles for testing. (Wawichtel was a bit surprised, how much the Lits figure was looking like his Coral.) But only after a few minutes both of them saw, that their puzzles were not solvable by logic. Sadly they hang their heads. But then Wawichtel had the idea of combining the two puzzles.

Taking the Coral hints from Wawichtel and the hint letters from Wuwichtel the puzzle was solvable now.
