Wichtel 2016 (4): Weihnachtsbaum mit Lichterketten

(Published on 29. April 2017, 02:02 by wichtel)

To Christmas 2016 some eager puzzlefriends have again arranged a group in which everybody had to make anonymously a puzzle for someone else. These puzzles are now presented one after the other here in the portal.

Christmas tree with fairy lights

Dear ... (name known to the editors),

I've made a Christmas tree for you and decorated it with some fairy lights. And in order to make it interesting for you, I designed a puzzle as well.

Hang digits from 1 to 9 into the tree. One in each cell as in a normal Christmas tree puzzle: Each cell contains the sum of or the difference between the two cells below it. In the darker rows no digit appears twice and in the lighter ones at least one digit appears twice.

And you shall turn on some of the fairy lights. Numbers at the right of the tree give the number of lit cells in the row and numbers at the left give the sum of lit cells. Of course in one fairy lights always all cells are lit or all cells are unlit.

And: Of course you have to replace the letters by digits. Equal letters mean equal digits, different letters mean different digits.

Enjoy!

Solution code: For each row (top to bottom) the sum of the unlit digits

No, no.
= regions, framed by the thick lines.
For example, one of them goes down from the top '9' to 'O' in the bottom row; another - from '4'to '1'in the bottom row, and so on.
