A Soviet defector has made contact and offered the Lektor cryptograph but says she will only surrender it to you. This may be one of the most important opportunities to monitor Soviet secret communications we’ve had since the war. Your task is to secure and authenticate the Lektor, and then smuggle it out of Istanbul. Solving the grid will validate the device.

To validate the device enter the digits 0 through 9 so that they appear in every row, column, and 3×3 section without repeats, however a digit will be omitted in each.

The orange lines are Dutch Whispers which means adjacent digits must have a difference of at least 4.

The bullet holes which act as Kropki dots meaning digits separated by a black dot must be in a 2:1 ratio, and digits separated by a white dot must be consecutive.

And you are to leverage your “charm” with the defector by ensuring both sides of the “Xs” add up to ten.

Keep on your toes, it feels like this is a part of a larger chess game, but you are our knight which is why digits a knights move away cannot be the same digit.

This is almost certainly a trap but the chance for the Lektor is too good to pass up.
