Flight of the Firefly

(Eingestellt Gestern, 20:27 Uhr von UncleLogic)

Flight of the Firefly is a no-givens variant Sudoku using German Whispers, Renban lines, and complete Kropki dots.

Sudoku:
Place the digits 1–9 in every row, column, and 3×3 box, with no repeats.

German Whispers:
Adjacent digits along each green line must differ by at least 5.

Renban Lines:
Digits along each pink line must form a set of consecutive, non-repeating digits in any order.

Kropki Dots:
Digits separated by a white dot are consecutive.
Digits separated by a black dot are in a 1:2 ratio.
All possible Kropki dots are given. Therefore, orthogonally adjacent cells without a dot are neither consecutive nor in a 1:2 ratio.

There are no given digits.

regarding difficulty ratings:
it's not that hard to "calculate" a "correct" difficulty rating, as long as you base it on facts and logic.
FACT: "beginners" exist, and indeed are the vast majority of sudoku players, even though this site skews towards the elite. many of the ratings on this site ignore this fact.
Next, you use an algorithm to get the rating, not an opinion poll of whoever actually solved the puzzle, and how they are feeling on that particular day.
And then the ratings become deterministic, and can be expressed as something like this :
1 --> can be solved with basic sudoku and basic logic
2 --> as 1, but beginners need a lot of effort
3 --> experts only. beginners will either be UNABLE to do this, or UNWILLING to spend the hours they would need. some types of puzzles, eg. SET-based, START here.
4,5 --> harder

THIS puzzle, which seems to require either knowing the negative constraint grid-wide pattern a priori, or being willing to spend the hours required to work it out from scratch, does not qualify for level 2

Thank you so much to everyone who gave it a try! RenBanned, I definitely understand where you’re coming from on the difficulty. I’ve found that ratings can vary quite a bit from solver to solver, so I’m still learning how best to calibrate them. I really appreciate the feedback!

Very cool, nice use of the negative constraint throughout the whole puzzle

I screamed at its beauty while solving
