Chaotic Hopscotch

(Eingestellt am 17. September 2026, 08:30 Uhr von sacker)

This puzzle is a boundless canvas of sidewalk, ready to be boxed up and chalked with arrows that make you hop to get going

Solve this puzzle in SudokuPad.

Chaos Construction: Divide the grid into nine orthogonally connected regions of nine cells each. Each row, column, and region must contain the digits 1–9 exactly once.

Gray Dot: The two digits on either side of the gray dot must have opposite parity (i.e., one is even and the other is odd) AND must be in the same region.

Circles AND Squares: Each circle/square within a cell indicates the total number of cells belonging to the same region seen orthogonally from that position, including itself. Region borders obstruct this vision.

Circles ONLY: Each circle within a cell ALSO acts as the starting point of a "Hopscotch Arrow."
  • At least two lines leave from each Hopscotch Arrow circle in different directions. These lines were wiped out by the rain and need to be chalked down again! The directions from which the arrow lines leave the circle must also be deduced.
  • Each Hopscotch Arrow line leaves from its arrow circle in a straight (and non-diagonal) line, remains straight, skips exactly one cell, and is exactly two cells long - a skip and a hop!
  • Digits along each Hopscotch Arrow line sum to the digit within their arrow's circle. For clarity, the skipped cell does NOT contribute to the sum. Each individual arrow line independently sums to the digit within its circle.
  • The digit in each Hopscotch Arrow circle must be in a different region from all of the digits on any of its arrow lines. For clarity, digits on the same arrow line may be in the same or different regions from each other.
  • Lines from different Hopscotch Arrows may cross/overlap each other.
Here are some images that may help with understanding the Hopscotch Arrow ruleset: Happy hopping! Enjoy the inspiration below (but don't mind the off-diagonal 3 that defies the ruleset; the kids will fix that for next time)

Lösungscode: Column 7 (top to bottom) with slashes separating region boundaries (e.g., 123/456/7/8/9)
