Rules

  • U-bahn: Draw an orthogonally travelling loop in the grid to the left, consisting of possible shapes of a straight line, a turn, a three-way intersection, and a four-way intersection. Line shape clues outside the grid show the order in which they appear in that row/column. A straight line shape will not be considered for clueing. I.e. there are no limits on the number of straight lines that appear between each clue shape in the grid. Clue line shape orientations are not final and must be determined by the solver.

  • The U-Bahn cannot pass through the given bold edge.

  • Japanese Sums: Shade some cells in the grid to the right. Fill the unshaded cells with digits from 1-9 such that there are no repeats in any row or column. A Clue outside shows the sum of the digits in a single group of unshaded cells in that row/column. These groups of unshaded cells appear in the order of the clues shown, with at least one shaded cell separating any two groups.

  • The clues in the lettered rows/columns in both grids are synced in the following ways: 1. Two synced rows/columns have the same amount and order of clues corresponding to that row/column. I.e. The first U-bahn of the first lettered row corresponds to the first Japanese sums clue in the first lettered row in the other grid. 2. A Japanese sum clue, when divided by 3, has a remainder of 0 if the corresponding line shape is a three-way intersection, 1 if it's a four-way intersection, and 2 if it's a turn.

  • For both grids, either all clues are given, or none are given. "..." can represent any number of clues, including none. A ? can be any shape or a digit from 0-9. A single ? or a leading ? cannot be 0.

  • For the answer check, use Numbers or Sudoku digits along with Green lines for U-Bahn construction.

Lösungscode: row F of Ubahn grid-row F of Jsums grid (separated by -) Use numbers 1 for four-way, 2 for a turn, 3 for a three-way and 0 for straight section. Ignore empty cells.

Intricate and clever! I feel like I learned things about u-bahn from this clueing twist.
_______________

I take that as a big compliment! Since I had never solved or set a U-bahn puzzle before this. This is my first Jsums puzzle as well.
