Counting and whispering

This puzzle has been my eleventh feature on Cracking the Cryptic (click here to see Mark solving it). It combines arrows with the idea of German whisper lines. I hope that you enjoy the puzzle. Constructive feedback is always appreciated! The rules are as follows:
Normal Sudoku rules apply. Digits along an arrow sum to the digit in its black circle. Digits may repeat along an arrow if allowed by other rules. A digit x in a circle (including black arrow circles and red circles) indicates exactly how many of the up to 8 neighboring cells (i.e. orthogonally or diagonally adjacent cells) contain a digit that differs by at least 5 from x.

I remember solving this and finding it enjoyable and fairly approachable. German whisper minesweeper is always an interesting constraint to play with.
