Château Laurier

Under the watchful gaze of the Peace Tower, while intrepid skaters traverse the Rideau Canal, four setters gather in the Learning Crossroads to let their creativity coalesce, guided by the inspiring light of this puzzle's namesake: the Château Laurier.
This is a collaboration between IkeManga, Scojo, LMDemasi and myself. We hope you enjoy!
Normal Sudoku Rules apply: Fill each cell with a digit from 1 to 9 such that digits do not repeat in any row, column or outlined 3×3 box.
Ambiguous Little Killers: Clues outside the grid give the sum of the digits along one of the diagonals emanating from that cell, to be determined by the solver.
Disjoint Detectives: The central cell of each outlined 3×3 box counts the number of times cells within that 3×3 box are used by Little Killers. If a cell is used by multiple Little Killers, that cell is counted for each Little Killer. These central cells form a complete set of the digits 1-9.

Great puzzle! I got the break in pretty quick, but floundered a lot in the middle... I probably should've gotten some sleep rather than pushing on with it in the middle of the night XD

Really, really enjoyed this. Took over an hour, with multiple breaks, but every time I'd come back to it I'd find a fresh break. Loads of fun, thank you!

Stupid question I'm sure, but my brain is glitching - are the diagonals counted starting from the cell facing each number, or from its corners? I.e. if the diagonal for the 9 to the right of R6C9 goes downwards, is it running through cells R6C9, R7C8, R8C7, and R9C6, or is it running through R7C9, R8C8, and R9C7?
