Rules:
- Squishdoku Doppelganger:
- Place digits from 0-9 in every cell of the main 9x9 grid, so that no digit repeats in a row, column, or 3x3 region.
- The dashed lines indicate the boundaries of regions, and cells on the dashed lines are simultaneously part of the regions on both sides of the line.
- Every row, column, and region must contain a 0, and therefore must be missing some digit from 1-9.
- No two rows, nor no two columns may be missing the same digit.
- Since there are 16 3x3 regions, there will be repeated instances of missed digits among the regions, but each digit from 1-9 must be missing from at least one region.
- For each 0, the digits missing from its row, column, and all of its 3x3 regions must be distinct.
- Auxiliary Grids:
- The 9x1 strip below the main grid records the digit missing in the corresponding column of the main grid.
- The 1x9 strip to the right of the main grid records the digit missing from the corresponding row of the main grid.
- The 4x4 grid in the lower right records the digit missing from the corresponding 3x3 region in the main grid.
- Within the 4x4 grid, no digit may repeat in a row, column, or 2x2 box.
- Stations:
- One cell in each row and column of the main grid is a station.
- The stations contain a set of the digits 1-9.
- Station Coordinate Arrows (Long, Black) :
- The digits on a Long Black arrow read from tail to tip are the row and column respectively of a distinct station in the grid.
- 0-Coordinate Arrows (Long, Light Gray) :
- The digits on a Long Light Gray arrow read from tail to tip are the row and column respectively of a distinct 0 in the grid.
- Path:
- Draw a non-crossing path that travels orthogonally through the centers of some cells, starting at Station 1, and ending at Station 9, visiting each station in order.
- The path may not pass through any cell containing a 0.
- Short Black Arrows:
- Horizontal short black arrows point to one or more cells which are part of a horizontal path segment with a length equal to the digit in the cell.
- Vertical short black arrows point to one or more cells which are part of a vertical path segment with a length equal to the digit in the cell.
- All possible short black arrows in the main grid have been given.
- Outside Clues:
- Clues outside of the grid indicate the sums of digits on path segments in the corresponding row or column which travel within that row or column.
- Segments which cross the row or column are ignored.
- When there are multiple segments in a row or column, the clues will occur in the same order as the segments they represent.
- All such clues are given.
- Answer Check:
- If solving in penpa, draw the Path in RED.
- Place digits in all cells including the auxiliary grids.

Very interesting combination of rulesets. I really appreciated the part with the meta knowledge (though I focused definitely more on path building and finding the stations while solving). And thanks for the prompt clarification in regard to the use of arrows, this was very helpful!

Just for clarification: When using a double arrow, has the cell with the arrows to be included by the path which continues in both directions? And a single arrow could be part of a path or not, but only as a turn?
Thanks
----
When a cell contains two arrows that point in opposite directions, there are three possibilities...
1) the cell is not part of the path and there are two path segments of the indicated length, somewhere on each side of the cell.
2) the cell is part of a path which continues on both sides of the cell.
3) there are two paths segments, of the indicated length, and one of them turns at the cell.
A single arrow has three possibilities
1) it is on a segment of a different length than its digit, but points to a second segment with the indicated length.
2) it is not on a segment.
3) it is on a turn.

very nice!
i always thought squishdoku and doppelgänger are inside-out versions of each other so getting them at the same time is an outstanding experience, glad this exists!

Once you get a bit of progress in the pace picks up a lot but that start is indeed devious. But if you like squish scanning and can be persistent you'll really enjoy your time with this.
