Battle for territory
Rules:
Standard placement: The digits from 1 to 8 are placed so that each appears exactly once in every row and every column.
Division into teams: The digits 1 to 8 are divided into two teams, with each digit assigned to exactly one team.
Unique regions: The final grid is fully partitioned into regions of orthogonally connected cells (a region may consist of a single cell). Each region is built from digits belonging to a single team, and orthogonally adjacent regions belong to opposite teams. Digits do not repeat within a region. All regions are unique in their composition of digits.
Region sums: A number clue gives the sum of all the digits in region. The sum clues are in an arbitrary position within the region. Each region has at most one clue, but may also have none at all.
Kropki: digits separated by a black dot have a ratio of 1:2; digits separated by a white dot are consecutive.

I am so envious of this puzzle! Chaos construction and similar puzzles while typically satisfying, tend to scare me as a setting concept but this was simply wonderful to solve. It took me longer to get my head around it enough to actually divy up the digits than any other step. It was natural and fairly easy (2 star) once I had a firm grasp of how it works. The part I enjoyed most was actually after my solve was complete. There is so much to appreciate regarding how a 64 cell grid interacts with these rules and how constrained the whole puzzle is. It's a rare feeling for me, wanting to stop and stare at a grid after it is complete but I just had to with this one. Well done.
