Rank Up 20.bjf - Cipher
Check out all the puzzles in the Rank Up 20 series.
Rules:
- Latin Square: Place the digits 1-5 once in every row and column.
- Full Rank: A value in an external cell represents the rand of the number formed by reading the digits in that row or column from that direction, where (01) is the lowest such row or column and (20) is the highest.
- Cipher: Each of the letters from A-D represents a different digit chosen from 0-9, you must determine which. A "?" can represent any number and can have different values in different clues.
- Note: Every number in this puzzle is written as a two-digit number. i.e. the number seven would be written 07.
- Note 2: If two ranks are tied, the value in both external cells is the lower of the two ranks being shared. For example, if the lowest four ranks are "12453", "13524", "13524" and "15432", the values in the relevant external cells would be (1), (2), (2) and (4) respectively.

Cool puzzle!
From the rules it looks like in the Cipher, two different letters can represent the same digits. Is that true?
bjf: Hi thanks, no I will clarify in the rules but each letter represents a different digit. So "A" and "B" can't be the same digit.
elad: thank you bjf! I now solved this beautiful puzzle! :)

fun puzzle! It's pretty easy to get the full code before the full solve. Not sure if you consider that an issue or not.
bjf: Thank you! In principle, yeah that is not ideal. But it doesn't bother me enough to change it.
