Difference Killer

This is an old puzzle that never got properly released. Probably pretty hard in 2020, when I set it, but pretty doable for present standards I guess.
But beware, there's a couple of nifty little tricks to be found.
• Normal sudoku rules apply.
• The arrow clues indicate the difference between the highest and the lowest number along that diagonal.
• In cages, the small clue gives the difference between the highest and lowest number in that cage.
• Numbers may repeat along diagonals and in cages.

fairly easy = concentrate on BASIC SUDOKU.
also note that MAXIMUM difference sometimes implies MINIMUM difference
