Place the digits 1-9 in each row and column.

There are nine star cells in the puzzle, one in each row and column. Each star is a different digit and is a knight's move away from exactly two neighboring stars. The stars create a constellation with 180* rotational symetry around the center star, which is the digit 5. The smallest star is marked by a diamond shape.

A star cell and the cells which touch that star may not include repeating digits. (9, 6, or 4 cell regions.)

Given digits are not stars.

This puzzle was inspired by 9-Center Regions by qyc. I thought it was an amazing puzzle and wanted to try using the center regions idea, with a different break-in.

Major rules revision to make it easier to understand.
The puzzle was not changed, but there are a few additional steps to the solve.

fun and simple puzzle once i understood the ruleset, but the rules confused me -- the 4/6/9 boxes could be simplified to 9 excluding cells out of grid; the overlapping lines rule doesn't seem to be necessary and just added to my confusion
