Irregular XV*Magic

(Eingestellt am 21. Februar 2025, 08:00 Uhr von NurglesGift)

Every Row, Column and Region must contain the digits 1-9.

Cells connected by an X must sum to 10.

Cells connected by an V must sum to 5.

All X's and V's are given.

There is a 3x3 magic square somewhere in the grid.

(A magic square is a 3x3 square with the digits 1-9 where all rows, columns and diagonals have the same sum)

Solve Time: 24:17

I rated this 2/5 difficulty.

Another great addition to the series! This puzzle was definitely on the easier/side of the puzzles in the series, and seems fairly rated at 2* difficulty.

I really enjoyed having a more approachable/quicker solve, and I felt like the coloring logic was very nice & satisfying. I was able to progress consistently (and quickly) just working my way outward from where I began coloring, expanding a large "chunk" of fully colored cells until I fully colored the grid. This made the solve more relaxing, and I didn't need to spend a lot of time bouncing around the entire grid and could just expand my existing coloring.

The magic square logic, as aleays, was very nice and a fun way to disambiguate everything. Thanks for sharing!

maybe the rule could be more specific, as in the digits 1-9 (each one time)
maybe I'm wrong, but I thought if it have 2 of the same digit its no longer a "true" magic square :)

@NurglesGift : I know that logic about Magic Squares. But are you sure this is 100% correct in irregular sudokus? As there could be double digits in a 3x3 square, maybe there are other Magic Squasres possible???

Thank you everyone!

(Magic Square Spoiler)
Well you can find many places that explain Magic squares. but to make it simple. 5 must always be in the middle, the 4 corners must always be even. from that the puzzle will give you a 2-4 pair and a 9 in the middle of them.

It is so satisfying (and such a rarity) to solve a non-trivial sudoku without a single pencil mark. From fully colored straight to digits!
