Berghuetten Sudoku

Put in each row, in each column and in each 3x3 block the numbers 1,2,3,4,5, 8 and 9 and one mountain (triangle) and one hut (square).
Among the diagonal neighbor cells of a mountain at least one cell must conatin a hut. Among the diagonal neigbor cells with a hut at least one cell must contain a mountain. There are no 'lonesome' mountains and no 'lonesome' huts. (The recreation area is fully developed.)
Needless to say: mountains and huts may touch orthogonally but do not count as neighbors.
This puzzle is the diagonal version of puzzle 001EM.
Solution code: row 2 and row 3.
Use digit 7 for a mountain and digit 6 for a hut.

What I don't understand is why the numbers 1-5, 8 and 9 are used. Replacing the huts and mountains with numbers 6 and 7 does not make any sense to me. Simple replacement with B for Berg and H for Huette would have been much simpler.
